Thank you to all those “18 Wheel Angels” who are distributing Mickey’s poster as the drive across the country. God Bless and safe travels to you all. For more information see http://www.projectjason.org and 18wheelangels@projectjason.org.

  • Karen:

Maybe contact America’s most wanted, maybe they will be able to help you find him. I read the news often and I am sad for your family that there was not more coverage on Mickey’s disappearance. I hope you find him safe and sound.

  • Kelly (Ribeiro) Murphy:

Aunt Barb (Green) called tonight and gave me an update on Mickey’s disappearance. I work in a Claremont, NH hospital, so I’ll send along the poster to other contacts within the New Hampshire Hospital network and some of my police department contacts in the community. My prayers are with you all!!
If I can do anything else, please let me know.

  • THIS IS THE OUTLINE AND WORDS USED FOR THE SECOND VIGIL HELD RE: MICKEY BROUGHAM.
    MICKEY VIGIL 2
    8/27/10

    PRELUDE—ENYA
WELCOME –My name is Todd Farnsworth, pastor of bucc
WHY WE ARE HERE: TO GATHER AS PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED A LOSS FROM OUR COMMUNITY TO SHARE WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT MICKEY’S DISAPPEARANCE TO FIND HOPE FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD AS WE CONTINUE SEARCHING FOR MICKEY IN OUR OWN WAY.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR: JUNE 25, MICKEY REPORTED MISSNIG SOME OF HIS PERSONAL EFFECTS (A WATCH, CELL PHONE, WALLET) WERE FOUND IN NH. HIS ABSENCE IS NOT IN KEEPING WITH HIS LIFE RHYTHM AS HE, DID NOT TELL FAMILY HE WAS LEAVING, DID NOT MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR HIS PET, HAS NOT CONTACTED ANYONE ABOUT HIS WHEREABOUTS. ON JULY 9TH WE HELD A VIGIL ON THE TOWN COMMON. AT THAT TIME, MICKEY’S NIECE ENCOURAGED US TO CONTINUE THE SEARCH THROUGH THESE DARK TIMES, BY SINGING THIS SONG, GO LIGHT ONE CANDLE….

    SONG—GO LIGHT ONE CANDLE

SINCE THAT TIME, WE HAVE KEPT OUR CANDLES BURNING—
CALLS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY LOCAL AND STATE POLICE CONCERNING MICKEY.
THE TIP LINE HAS RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT IS BEING FOLLOWED UP ON. THE REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO MICKEY’S RETURN HAS BEEN INCREASED TO $10,000 PLANS HAVE BEEN MADE TO HAVE AN INFORMATION BOOTH AT THE BTOWN FAIR, IF THE SEARCH CONTINUES THAT LONG. AS WE GET CLOSER TO THAT DATE WE’LL LET YOU KNOW HOW YOU CAN HELP. IF WE ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR MICKEY AT THE TIME OF THE FAIR, INFORMATION FOR A POKER RUN WILL AVAILABLE FOR FOLKS WHO WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THAT EVENT. WE CONTINUE TO WEAR OUR BLUE RIBBONS AND TIE THEM TO OUR TREES AND CARS AND…WE TALK ABOUT MICKEY TO FOLKS WE KNOW. SOME OF THAT TALK IS PRODUCTIVE/HEALING. SOME OF THAT TALK IS GOSSIP/ RUMORS… RUMORS ABOUT MICKEY’S WHEREABOUTS SWIRL AROUND OUR COMMUNITY LIKE A WHIRLWIND OF PAIN. MANY RUMORS HAVE NO BASIS IN TRUTH. SOME RUMORS LEAD US TO BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE OUT THERE, PERHAPS SOMEONE WHO IS HERE TONIGHT, KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO MICKEY…KNOWS WHERE MICKEY IS…

I BELIEVE WE NEED TO PRAY FOR THAT PERSON OR THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT MICKEY. I BELIEVE THAT WE NEED TO PRAY FOR THOSE PARTIES WHO ARE AWARE OF MICKEY’S WHEREABOUTS TO HAVE THE COURAGE TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, SO THAT MICKEY CAN COME HOME. I BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL NOT REST AND THOSE FOLKS WHO ARE IN THE KNOW WILL NOT HAVE PEACE UNTIL THE TRUTH IS KNOWN AND MICKEY IS HOME. I KNOW THAT WE WILL NOT REALLY HAVE PEACE AS A COMMUNITY, UNTIL THAT TRUTH HAS COME TO LIGHT.

TO THAT END, I OFFER YOU THIS PAMPHLET OF PRAYER THAT WE CAN WORK THROUGH AS A COMMUNITY. IT IS CALLED: MEDITATIONS FOR MICKEY: A DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF READINGS, REFLECTIONS AND PRAYER FOR BRINGING MICKEY HOME. AS WE HAND THEM OUT, PLEASE HEAR THIS SONG BY OLETA ADAMS, GET HERE IF YOU CAN

GET HERE IF YOU CAN (NOTE: WHILE THIS SONG PLAYED, A PIGEON LANDED IN A TREE OVER THE FOLKS WHO WERE GATHERED. IT CALLED TO THE CAGE OF DOVES BELOW ON THE GROUND. IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE PIGEON HAD A BAND ON ITS LEG, INDICATING THAT IT WAS LOST AND HAD COME FROM ANOTHER FLOCK OF HOMING PIGEONS.)

THERE ARE LOTS OF WAYS THAT WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO BRING MICKEY HOME. WE CAN KEEP WEARING OUR RIBBONS TO KEEP AWARENESS OF OUR LOSS ALIVE…WE CAN PUT UP POSTERS…WE CAN LISTEN FOR STORIES THAT MIGHT LEAD US TO MICKEY’S WHEREABOUTS…WE CAN SEARCH OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND THE INTERNET AND ANYWHERE ELSE THAT MICKEY’S PRESENCE MIGHT BE KNOWN….AND I ADMIT A PROFESSIONAL BIAS HERE…WE CAN PRAY. WE CAN ASK GOD TO LOOSE THE TONGUES OF THOSE WHO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT MICKEY…WE CAN PRAY FOR MICKEY’S SAFETY, WE CAN PRAY FOR MICKEY’S RETURN, WE CAN PRAY FOR MICKEY’S FAMILY AND OURSELVES DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. I MEAN REALLY, IF A 200LB BLOCK LIKE MICKEY CAN JUST DISAPPEAR FROM OUR COMMUNITY, HOW SAFE ARE THE REST OF US? WE CAN PRAY FOR THAT SAFETY OF COMMUNITY TO BE RETURNED TO US, BY THE RETURN OF MICKEY, HIMSELF.NOW, IN MY RELIGIOUS TRADITION, THERE IS A BELIEF THAT IF THE COMMUNITY PRAYS TOGETHER, THERE IS A CONNECTION TO THE HOLY THAT IS DIFFERENT THAN IF WE PRAY ALONE. I’M NOT SURE IF IT’S BETTER…BUT IT’S DIFFERENT. AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT WE NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT RIGHT ABOUT NOW, SO I OFFER YOU THESE BOOKLETS (WE’LL MAKE THEM AVAILABLE AT ACE HARDWARE AND AT LOCAL CHURCHES, TOO, NEXT WEEK.)AND I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU TO JOIN ME IN READING FROM DAY 1 OF THESE MEDITATIONS: PSALM 130READREFLECT ? IF TIME…WITH GOD’S HELP WE ARE MOVING FORWARD, TOGETHER. SEEKING THE TRUTH. ENCOURAGING HONESTY. TRUSTING GOD TO MOVE SOULS THAT ARE LOOKING FOR PEACE, BY GIVING THEM COURAGE TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT.FEAR IS A HEAVY BURDEN. A MISSING LOVED ONE IS AN EVEN HEAVIER BURDEN. I CANNOT IMAGINE THAT WEIGHT…BUT I FEEL A BIT OF IT, AS A MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS HERE TO ALL OF YOU…ALL OF US…I BELIEVE THAT DESPITE THE HEAVINESS, TOGETHER, AS A COMMUNITY, WE CAN LIGHTEN ONE ANOTHER’S LOAD THROUGH ACTS OF KINDNESS AND ACTS OF PRAYER. THOUGH THE ROAD MAY BE LONG, WE ARE STRONG WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER, AND WE WILL SEE THIS JOURNEY OF BRINGING MICKEY HOME, THROUGH TO THE END.

I INVITE ED AND LYNN TO RELEASE THE HOMING PIGEONS AT THIS TIME, AS WE REFLECT IN THIS PLACE THAT BROUGHT SO MUCH PEACE TO MICKEY THROUGH THE YEARS, ON HOW WE CAN BRING HIM HOME. MAY THE HOLY BE WITH YOU….AND BLESS YOU.

HE AIN’T HEAVY/RELEASE BIRDS (NOTE: THE “LOST” BIRD JOINED THE FLOCK THAT WAS RELEASED BY THE KOBYLANSKI’S. IT FOLLOWED THEM BACK TO THE DOVECOTE, WHERE ED TOLD US, HE WOULD HELP IT FIND ITS WAY HOME.)

MAY THE ONE WHO GATHERS US IN COMMUNITY AND SENDS US TO OUR HOMES, HELP US TO BRING MICKEY HOME, TO THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. MAY WE GO SEEKING PEACE FOR ALL OUR NEIGHBORS, IN THE HOLIEST OF NAMES. AMEN.

  • Our thoughts, prayers and hopes are with Mickey’s family and friends. We anxiously await news of his return….

  • You don’t know me. I am a Ludlow resident that has been touched by Mickey’s story. Today I opened a Twitter account to help find Mickey ( http://www.twitter.com/Find_Mickey ) . I will work my hardest to get Mickey’s story out there. I too have a brother and I would hope someone would do the same for me. We WILL find him!

    • Cindy Brown:

Thank you for your efforts. This is exactly what we hope people will do. We need to have everyone keep Mickey in their thoughts, He is our brother ,son and friend. You may not know him but we all can understand the horror of the experience of having someone disappear from our lives with no explanation. WE continue to believe that some one knows something which will help us bring him home. Keeping the interest and conversation going will help that happen.
